QUICK APPLE CRUMBLE WITH OATMEAL AND ROSE HIP POWDER

90 minutes (60 for baking)

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour (100 g)
  • 3 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp baker’s sugar
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup butter (125 g)
  • 1 cup oatmeal

Filling:

  • 1 kg apples
  • ½ lemon
  • 5 Tbsp sugar
  • 1½ Tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp rosehip powder by Bobica.hr

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix flour, brown sugar, white sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Then add cold butter chunks and press with a fork to roughly mix all the ingredients. Add the oatmeal and with your hands mix with flour, sugar and butter to give a granular mixture. Place in the refrigerator while you prepare the filling.

For the filling, peel and clean the apples and cut into smaller pieces. Add the juice and zest of half a lemon and coat well with sugar, flour, cinnamon and rosehip powder.

Arrange the apples pieces in a baking dish and pour the prepared oatmeal mixture on top. Bake for 55 minutes, or until the top turns golden brown as the filling begins to boil slightly. Before serving, let it cool slightly and serve with whipped cream, pudding or ice cream.
