CHICKEN WINGS IN APPLE AND ROSE HIP SAUCE
45 minutes
Ingredients for 4 servings:
16 chicken wings
Sauce:
- 1 onion
- 2 large apples
- 1 handful of forest fruits
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp rosehip powder by Bobica.hr
Preparation:
Marinate the wings one day early, if possible, or at least several hours before baking. Make the marinade by mixing ½ dcl of oil (around a quarter cup), a tablespoon of salt, a tablespoon of pepper, a teaspoon of cayenne pepper and a teaspoon of garlic and rub the mixture onto the wings. Bake them at 200°C (around 400°F) and bake until both sides have a nice golden color and crispy crust. During baking, pour water 2-3 times as necessary.
As the wings are baking, dice the onions and slice the apples into smaller cubes. Add a tablespoon of oil to the onion and let soak until softened (10 min), then add the sliced apples and ½ dcl (around a quarter cup) of water and stir. After 5 minutes add the berries, honey, vinegar, salt and rosehip powder, stir well and cook for another 5 minutes. Then put the mixture into a blender and blend the ingredients to form a thick sauce. You can add some BBQ sauce if desired.
Serve the wings with the sauce, any side dish and a seasonal salad.
